Překvapivým vítězem golfového turnaje Masters se stal Američan Zach Johnson, který dosáhl v 31 letech životního úspěchu.

Na legendárním hřišti v Augustě zahrál 56. muž světového žebříčku v neděli poslední kolo tři údery pod par a v celkovém součtu porazil o dvě rány světovou jedničku krajana Tigera Woodse. Tomu nevyšel útok na pátý triumf ve slavné soutěži.
